This makes no sense. What directories? You use "rpm -e <packagename>" where <packagename> is the internal name of the installed package, not the name or location of the file you installed it from.

thank you
got the old mplayer files off
got a clean download

the only ones i need now are the mplayer gui and the mplayer-skin-default

still got a circular dependency I can't seem to resolve

[root@localhost Desktop]# cd /home/bruce/Desktop
[root@localhost Desktop]# rpm -i mplayer-gui.rpm mplayer-skin-default.rpm
error: open of mplayer-gui.rpm failed: No such file or directory
error: open of mplayer-skin-default.rpm failed: No such file or directory
[root@localhost Desktop]# rpm -i mplayer-gui
error: open of mplayer-gui failed: No such file or directory
[root@localhost Desktop]# rpm -i mplayer-gui-1
error: open of mplayer-gui-1 failed: No such file or directory
[root@localhost Desktop]# rpm -i mplayer-gui-1.Opre7try2-2.i386.rpm
error: open of mplayer-gui-1.Opre7try2-2.i386.rpm failed: No such file or direct ory
[root@localhost Desktop]# rpm -i /home/bruce/Desktop/mplayer-gui-1.0pre7try2-2.i 386.rpm /home/bruce/Desktop/mplayer-skin-default-1.4-1.noarch.rpm
