trying to install opera tar.gz file-help

trying to install opera tar.bz file, having some luck with the old outline i posted on linux questions. the steps i have completed, and where i am now and want some help-
1.downloaded opera tar gz file, unzipped the file
2.created a directory on desktop-ronss
3.used archiver to extract the unpacked opera file into ronss directory
4.logged on as root
5.went to usr directory-temp files, cut and pasted ronss with the unpacked opera file into the /usr/temp file
6.opened terminal. and typed -cd/ronss/usr/temp/opera file
7.typed ls

EVERYTHING OK UP TO THIS POINT-

8. create a install.sh file- HOW DO I DO THIS, can,t remember

only a couple more things left, i installed this 2002, and have decided i need more work on file management , software install.

figured it out. the ls command created the install.sh -s file

the next step was -./install.sh -s

thats it, i installed opera, installation complete-enjoy.

finallly got this down, only took me 3 nights, my second tar.gz file install

i am pretty confident installing a source tarball.

quess my hard work is paying off.
