trying to install java on debian
 

I am using a tutorial that I found at http://serios.net/content/debian/java.php to install JDK in order to write java programs. However while doing "make-jpkg" I encounter an error that says

"Checking free diskspace:df: invalid option -- B
Try `df --help' for more information."

I did some digging online and found that I probably need to install Solaris fileutils rather than GNU fileutils. Does anyone know how to do this or can you point me in the right direction.
