Trying to install gtkglarea

[SOLVED] Hi, I am really new to linux ( a month old) and need to use ghemical +ghemical-gms for a class. I am having trouble instaling gtkglarea2.0.1. I keep getting this error: "checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... yes
checking for GTK... configure: error: Package requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 2.0.0 gmodule-2.0 >= 2.0.0) were not met:

No package 'gtk+-2.0' found
No package 'gmodule-2.0' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GTK_CFLAGS
and GTK_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details."

I have been looking for those two files online and not getting any luck. I have various libgtk2 and other files, so not sure what is going on. As for gmodule, it google results say that it comes in the pkg_config? If anyone knows where I could Dl those files that would be great assuming I do not have them installed.
Oh, I am using uberstudent ( based off of ubuntu).

Hi,

first question: How are you trying to install gtkglarea2? Are you using the package manager? Eg a program like synaptic or apt-get? Or are you downloading using your web browser? If so, you should have a look into using the package manager.

Cheers,

Evo2.

I was unable to find it with my manager, so I got it from their website.
After talking with them on their on IRC, they showed me that I did not need to do it source and that there was a lib already out... but it turns out that It is no longer needed for ghemical, b/c they decided to add the extension into their source code.
