trying to install anthem

It will be something like qt-*-devel-*.rpm.

well ok, so i found and tried to run qt-devel-.rpm but the package is already installed. Maybe you can answer a couple ?'s for me.
what is the difference between the /usr/ path and the /usr/local path? And why is it that all my working (dist) apps are in /usr/ while everything that has been installed from a tarball winds up in local? Are the tarball installs trying to fufill dependencies with what is in /usr/local?

The tar balls are installing themselves (according to the usual *nix practise) into /usr/local and redhat like to throw everything into /usr. You can change the install location of a tarball with "./configure --prefix=/INSTALLDIR" do "./configure --help" to see all the options you can pass to configure.
