Trying to download/install libdb.so.3.

Ive been trying to run cheops and etherape but they prompt me to get libdb.so.3.

Ive have googled for it but there are so many to look at i'm now sure which one to download, or more importantly is their a big difference, besides the different distro versions?

thanks.

You need to install software that has been compiled on the same compiler used to compile the rest of your system. Therefore a binary compiled on the same distribution and version number that you are using is the most likely to work.
