Question Trouble with make command

I am trying to install xcdroast 0.95alpha 15 retrieved from the Suse8.2 ftp update site.
After extracting it to /usr/local I ran ./configure and that worked fine but when I write make it says command not found. Am I missing a package? Thanks for any help.

it looks like make is either not installed or not in your path.
Try:
locate make
and if that doesn't find it then you don't have it installed.

I have make installed (at least I guess so because I installed a few programs using make) and when I do locate make I get this:
Code:
~/downloads> locate make
bash: locate: command not found

ok...so you don't have locate (and slocate) installed either.
Make should be in /usr/bin, have a look for it. If it's not there then it's not installed. If it is installed then try compiliing the xcdroast by running /usr/bin/make directly

You are right.
Make wasn't installed.
Thanks a lot for the tip.
