Hi.
I have a Creative Labs webcam, model VF-0040
I was trying to use it with Skype.
The Skype setup panel doesn't recognize any video devices.
I tried Mandriva Linux Control Center/Hardware - the camera shows up at the bottom of the list, in 'Unknown/Others' category and the device 'webcam/instant'. This is what I get in the window on the right side:

I tried Creative Labs support site but no luck there. They don't care much about Linux users..

Does anyone know how to setup this webcam?

I was able to fix it myself! Woohoo!
I looked for other posts on LQ and one of the users suggested the program called spca.
In the 'install/remove software' manager i typed in 'spca'
I got a match called dkms-gspcav1
I installed it, rebooted the computer and voila! the webcam works!
