Trouble installing MDK 9.1

I just downloaded Mandrake 9.1 and can't seem to get it installed. Right away after booting from the cdrom, I get this error:

"Could not uncompress second stage ramdisk. This is probably a hardware error while reading the data (this may be caused by a hardware failure or a Linux kernel bug)."

There is nothing wrong with my hardware. Mandrake 9.0 will install fine. So, I am wondering if my cd1 download was corrupt. I don't know how to use the checksum to see if the file size is correct, so if someone can tell me I will see if that is the problem. My guess is I'll need to download the file again but I would like to avoid it if possible. Especially if that isn't my problem

here's how you verify the .iso files.

you could also try the cd in another pc to see if the disc was a bad burn. (a quicker way)
