Trouble Installing+Configuring Kernal
Hey i downloaded the linux kernal, and i extracted it to /usr/src then did
"ln -s linux-2.6.7 linux"
i did a cd linux then make xonfig and it gave me:
linux:/usr/src/linux # make xconfig
bash: make: command not found
what do i do? :S

get a package called gcc. that's the compiler stuff you seem to lack.. gnu c compiler...
EDIT: there might be some other packages you need to have, so check out (in the kernel sources dir) the README file and so on..or read kernel.org documents.

yup. I don't know how SuSe handles the stuff to be installed (package manager?), but get all the tools mentioned at the kernel.org documentation for your kernel..and of course, all the dependencies those might have.
