Trouble getting snmptrap to work

For the life of me i cannot get snmptrap working.

created an /etc/snmp/snmptrap.conf file with the following
Code:
traphandle .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.50.100.1 /usr/local/bin/snmp-mysql_threads.sh
traphandle default /bin/echo hello
When i run "snmpwalk -v 1 -c public hostname .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.50.100.1" from another host I get nothing back at all. if i do it from localhost i get a timeout.
in my log file all i get is something saying its recieving data from the host.

All i want to do is have a script get a few values from mysql and then be able to query that from another box.

RHEL 3 ES
net-snmp 5.0.9
