Is there a way to hide partitions in Lilo ?

I need to hide my 1st partition and make 2nd visible for winblowz to work
need to hide 2nd and make 1st visible for ultimate DOS gaming
and finally linux is happy

What do you mean? There's no reason to have any but the bootable ones.

Windows won't work with 2 visible primary (aka bootable) partitions... so I need to "hide" one of my primaries and make Windows part visible while booting to windows

I think I've had multiple primary partitions and still had success with WINDOWS. Please refrain from saying "winblowz" and the crap like that, you have no idea how idiotic it makes you look. Anyway, if you had just followed the instructions posted many, many times before, and installed Windows on your first partition, you wouldn't have this problem. From what I've gathered, Windows essentially tries to use /dev/hda1 whenever it can, and when it can't, it doesn't work so hot. Why can't you flip the two partitions around? And what type of dos games do you play? I suppose it's because with XP, sound doesn't work with DOS games since it doesn't use the Win9x kernel, but the NT series. I remember the golden days of Doom, Wolfenstein 3d, Stunts, Captin Comic, Keen, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.... Those were the days....

NOTE: LILO may need to be manipulated and must be in the Root Home partition before Linux can use BootMagic.

^^^^^ Voila,

and as to answer your question, DOS needs to be in the 1st 2GB's of the 1st Physical Drive, Bootmagic can "HIDE" partitions, i.e windows doesn't see the DOS part, and DOS doesn't see windows part.... both think they are hda1 and act like they are hda1...

Betrayal at Krondor, Street Rod 2, UFO-Enemy Unknown, High Seas Trader, Jagged Alliance (the original, where you still need a dictionary to understand Ivan), and pretty much anything I can get my hands on

BTW if you guys happen to have any old DOS game CD's drop me a line maybe we can swap or trade

I forget which UFO game I had, I think it was UFO-Defense or something like that. Great game, I spent many hours playing it. So was Dune 2, another classic. Um, I forget where my Doom-Zone CD is, but I remember having Tank Commander somewhere aroundt he house. I think TC requires Win3.1, though, so I don't know how it would work. My sister loved her 386 with Win3.1. She prided the fact that she could boot up in 10 seconds and shutdown in 3. And that's with a 386... Now we have 3Ghz, and it takes probably a minute to boot up my XP machines, about a minute to shut down.... The times are even worse for my Linux box, but that's expected with 200mhz, even if I finally stopped inet1 from loading at boot, and now that I switched it back to rc.4....
