Triple Boot: Win2k/linux/win98

Hi

I have a Question. I have 2 HD, lets call them HDA and HDB. I have Win2k on HDA (NTFS)and Mandrake 8.0 on HDB. LILO is my boot manager. All works fine. Now I want to install Win98. Question is, Which HD do you recommend - HDA or HDB ?

If i decide to install in HDA , then I have to use Partition magic to create a FAT partition on HDA so that Win 98 can see it right?

i think installing it on HDB is out of the question becoz win98 will not be able to see the Linux partition -- correct?

Please advise

Thankyou

I would recommend on HDA, most of the time Windows does not like to be on any slave drive or anything like that. But be wary that if you install win98, there is the chance its gonna overwrite the MBR and lilo, so make sure you have your boot disk so you can load up Mandrake and reinstall lilo to the MBR if that is what you want to use for your loader.

Triple Boot - Win2000/Win98/Linux

Trickykid:

Hi and thanks for your help. IDEALLY I would like to use the NT bootloader and not LILO, so that is my first problem. How do I go about doin this? Then I will take ur suggestion and create a FAT partition on HDA and install win98, but then drive letters change so will this cause a boot-up problem?

Here is my current directory structure which may help:

MASTER DRIVE - HDA 10GB

C --> NTFS - WIN2000 INSTALLED - (primary partition)
D --> NTFS - APPS DRIVE - (extended partition) - LOGICAL DRIVE
G --> FAT32 - DATA - primary "hidden" partition

(I dont know why G:\ is hidden)

SLAVE DRIVE HDB 6GB

MANDRAKE 8.0

thats my setup.

I would appreciate any further help on this matter
thanks ever so much
