Tried Sawfish - now KDE won't boot!

I was playing around installing new games and stuff from my Mandrake 10.0 Contribs DVD, and came across Sawfish. Interesting, I thought. I get sort of bored with the appearance of m \y desktop, so I'm always looking for new and interesting things. Can't hurt to set it up and try it, right?

I was wrong. I tried switching to this window manager, and it just stopped loading. All I saw was my blue Mandrake background and the mouse cursor. It wasn't frozen, just nothing was there! I couldn't even get into a console or anything! Right clicking, key combinations, nothing would work!

So I rebooted, and now KDE always does this. I'm in XFCE right now. IceWM works as well. Anyway, when I try booting up into KDE like normal, it goes through the whole startup process, gets into X-windows (I can see the grey screen with the typical "x" shaped mouse cursor for a few seconds, before it transforms into the KDE desktop cursor) and then once the mouse cursor and background change to the blue of my normal KDE background, it stops loading. Again, not frozen, just the mouse moves but no input is accepted!

Is there any way I can easily fix this?

Thanks,
Baltika

Try this. Navigate to the directory where you initally saved the rpm (I hope it is an rpm) and type in rpm -e whatever.rpm and it'll undo everything that happened on install.

Wow, that was a quick reply!

I think I basically did the same thing... I got into my system under XFCE and ran the Mandrake RPM manager. I just searched for Sawfish and uninstalled it through the package manager.

I doubted that it would work, but here I am, back under KDE!
