Traydock and MPlayer

Hi,
I have just installed Fedora Core 2 andI have 2 unrelated problems here and if anyone could help me out with either one of them that would be great. Im pretty new to linux so please bear with me :-)

1) I recentaly downloaded Amsn and it works for the most part ( every now and then when i log in it will say "Contact dosnt exist" and crash), but i cant get the traydock plugin to work. Everything went fine in configure and make, and it created a libtray.so file like its supposed to, but when i turn on tray docking in amsn nothing happens.

2) I had made a launcher icon for MPlayer on my desktop and it was working fine for a day then it just stopped working. I tryed making a new launcher and no dice. I can still run gmplayer from the command line but the launcher just wont work anymore...weird...
