Trash opens VI

RH9

Anyone know why when i open the trash on the desktop a terminal opens and VI starts? I keep reassociating but it keep switching back to a terminal so now i cannot see whats in the trash. Is there a way to just delete this trashcan and create a new one?

Thanks......

I'm blissfully unaware of Gnome DE and how it addresses associations, but I'd say you better work on getting those associations right instead of deleting the trashcan. Isn't there a rightclick menu to configure actions for the trashcan?

No. You can right click it but it has no features that help with association that are any different than left clicking. I can associate the trash can with nautilus like its supposed to be but it only works one time then when I try to open the trash again it reverts back to this error message. " Nautilus has no viewer capable of opening this file"
