Trash can point to wrong location
Hello,
My trashcan is pointing to the "/" directory instead of the "~/.Trash" directory. When I type in "trash:/" in Nautilus, it is also opening the "/" directory. Does somebody know how to change this? I am running RHEL5 and I am using GNOME. Thank you for your help. |
are you logged in as root ?
sometimes the root account uses /.trash and not /root/.trash also different partitions will have there own .trash for example my DATA share hdd with centos has it's own .trash |
John,
No, I am not logged on as root. I am logged on with my own user account. This account however, is not a local account. It exists in a NIS domain. |
Hello,
I solved the issue. I removed the ".gconf*" and ".gnome*" files and directories. After that, I re-logged in and changed the theme to my own taste again. |
