transmission (torrent) problems, alternatives ?

I'm using transmission 1.06 with Fedora 8 as BitTorrent client. I've a lot of problems with it causing loss of data after verification. I've searched the internet and it looks like a common problem and also looks like it won't be resolved soon (check transmission support forum to see what I'm talking about).

The question is, anybody here knows how to fix this problem ? Should I switch to another client ? Which one would you recommend ?

Don't know about fixing it, but I've had good success with Azureus (which needs Java) and ktorrent.

I've found 'deluge' easy to use and lightweight on CPU usage.
