Translucency & Kopete

Running SuSE 10.0 with Xorg 6.9.0 (incidentally, are there any RPMs available for 7.0?), KDE 3.5 and the 8672 Nvidia drivers. If Translucency is enabled all works well except for Kopete.

If the 'message bubble' appears and one clicks on 'View' then X crashes. If a contacts name is clicked to send them a message, X crashes.

It looks like bugs were logged with both KDE and Xorg but neither appears to be active any longer.

Has anyone seen this issue or now how to overcome it?

Switch to suse 10.1
You have the option of using the glx and compiz desktop with kde and get 3d acceleration and transparancy effects for all windows wether they want to accept it or not

Just got it fired up that way this morning and I've just got an Intel 915gm card.

Works amazingly smooth. My cpu temp is actually down 3 degrees with the graphics card doing part of the work.
