Tracing the system calls


Say me the tool used to trace into(step into) the LINUX kernel system calls.

Let me make sure I'm answering the right question here, do you want to actually debug the implementation of a system call?

If so.. kGDB is what your looking for.... but you'll need another linux machine with gdb isntalled to use it.

Hi Jtshaw,

Thanks for the reply. What I need to do is if program with socket application program for TCP is written, I need to step into all the kernel C files.

I'll try to use kgdb & another machine with gdb as u said. Can u say how to use it or can I get the information in the internet for this. Is this kgdb is downloadable in the internet.
