Totem Movie player problem

Hi masters,

I been trying to play video files on Totem and I do get the picture but the sound is just a loud hiss. It plays mp3's with no problem. I tried changing the sound drivers but that doesn't help. I'd like to find some kind of plugin for xmms that would do the job so I wouldnt have to use Totem. Any thoughts?

thanks

Hi guys, can you put the distros that you are using in your profiles so that replies can be more accurate. If you are using Fedora, you can download apt and synaptic from freshrpms and then install xmms-mp3 plugin. Also use the totem from there coz there have been problems with totem from Fedora.

Maybe you need to get the xine packages from the plf rpm repositories. If you havn't setup urpmi sources, go to easyurpmi and get the instructions from there. Also make sure you install win32 codecs.
