totem and xine problems
sys is 1.7ghz, 512m ram, 160m hd and 30g hd
MDK 10, KDE 3.2, W98 This is the error when starting totem: [don@localhost don]$ totem The program 'totem' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. (Details: serial 72 error_code 11 request_code 141 minor_code 19) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) How do I solve this? This is the error when starting mplayer: [don@localhost don]$ mplayer MPlayer 1.0pre3-3.3.2 (C) 2000-2003 MPlayer Team CPU: Advanced Micro Devices Duron MG Morgan 1196 MHz (Family: 6, Stepping: 1) Detected cache-line size is 64 bytes CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 1 3DNow2: 1 SSE: 1 SSE2: 0 Compiled with Runtime CPU Detection - WARNING - this is not optimal! To get best performance, recompile MPlayer with --disable-runtime-cpudetection. Reading config file /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf Reading config file /home/don/.mplayer/config Reading /home/don/.mplayer/codecs.conf: Can't open '/home/don/.mplayer/codecs.conf': No such file or directory Reading /etc/mplayer/codecs.conf: 61 audio & 169 video codecs Usage: mplayer [options] [url|path/]filename I removed and reinstalled both only to get the same messages. dlw |
If you're running Mozilla or some other web browser try closing it before running Totem. If that solves your problem then it's a known bug in the system, sorry ...

That is not the problem.
