Trying to play mp3s :with totem movie player.

Error
The playback of this movie requires a MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) decoder plugin which is not installed.

Can anyone help?

Yep, follow the advice given to you by the error message. You can install the MP3 codec by installing the gstreamer fluendo mp3 plugin.

Withou knowing what type of system you have (Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, etc etc etc) I cannot be any more helpful than that.

Alternatively, install VLC. If it doesn't play in VLC, it's a safe bet it won't play in Linux.

thanks, i will try both.
it is centos 6.2
i also found an old real player rpm on the helix web site.
strangely enough helix would NOT play my p3's however, real did.

appreciate your help ...
