Total freeze upon KPPP connect

I'm running a linmodem on a Lucent chipset modem.

Installed the driver ok (as it seems), and then did an autoload of them upon system startup.

I made a system link /dev/modem from the actual modem /dev/ttyLT0.

Went into KPPP and added the modem. The query accessed the modem and seemed to be fine.

It initiates modem, and starts the dialing process, but at the end when username and password is being verified, it freezez.

It happens upon wvdial when trying to do connect with wvdial too.

I have connected before using Redhat 9.

Is this something with the drivers, or what? Any help would be appreciated.

BTW, I'm using FC4 using Kernel 2.6.11 on a Lucent supported Linmodem
