Tor profile missing

I recently reset the settings in my tor browser, and now when I try to open it a window comes up that says this: "Your Tor Browser profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."
I tried removing the software and installing the tor browser again, but I still get the same window.

seeing as the browser bundle is a self contained folder
to uninstall you delete the folder ( or for SECURITY reasons it is BEST to use "srm" or "shred" )

grab the current tar.xz file and re-extract it
