Tor browser! keep get 'Qt: Session management error: Authentication Rejected...'
Hi there,
I read some stuff about Tor accidently and it's interested me very much, so I decided to give it a try, but never get it wokred. I've been keeping plug for while, i feel my interests is runing out, so i figure i better start ask before that. I downloaded the Tor-bundle and extracted it , when i run ./start-tor-browser , it always get this error: 'Qt: Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed'. I thought it's because i don't have qt in my box, so i installed the newest qt. It ate a lot disk space.but I continue get the error information. Tor seem start runing, but never get connected to the tor network. I have added bridges. Is there any paticular port should be open in iptalbes for tor's running? I'm runing a new salix os based on slackware with xfce. Thanks in advance. |

Did you by any chance unpack the tarball as root? Do you execute start-tor-browser from the directory as suggested? Do you execute start-tor-browser as a different user than that you're logged in with? *To keep things simple: if you've configured TOR (and torrc doesn't require much configuration actually) then TORButton and Vidalia are just convenience and absolutely not necessary to run TOR successfully. thanks for your replpy !
I checked couple of things u said, i believe i did it right about unpack and running DIR steps, but i didn't edit configure file I added bridges because I am in china-mainland right now , some info says that i shoud do so, but i could be wrong, it's difficult to access infomation about tor or of any sorts , even through a tunnel, it gets blocked constantly. I opened ports about tor, and set my ip as the dmz in the router(not sure if it's necessary), tor can't connect. I got some log like this: Problem bootstrapping. Stuck at 5% (Connecting to directory server, time out; recomendation warn) ... ... ... Just post some matearial first, I'll keep post new things |
