TOP: says kdeinit is running 7 times, WHY ?

when i look at the porcess threads running on my linux box, why is kdeinit
running 7 times !!!!
surely only one thread is needed ?

i i thought maybe one got spawned each time i loged out and re-started X, but after rebooting, the 7 kdeinit threads were running...

is it safe to kill them ?

kdeinit is something that stands in the middle of the kde servers and clients.

No need to worry about them. it's allright to be there. if you press 'c' when you inside top, you will what process is spawned from that kdeinit.

Dont kill them... one of your progs will take a bullet and die...
