Angry tomcat or java


hi
i have been trying to get tocat and java working on ma server for a long time no with no luck i have installed them quite alright but when i try to open the website i get a blank page
i know tomcat is running
netstat -lnp | grep 80

tcp 0 0 ::ffff:127.0.0.1:8005 :::* LISTEN 5516/java

tcp 0 0 :::8009 :::* LISTEN 5516/java

tcp 0 0 :::80 :::* LISTEN 5550/httpd

tcp 0 0 :::8080 :::* LISTEN 5516/java


Stopping tomcat5: [ OK ]

Starting tomcat5: [ OK ]


same with apache when i goto http://localhost:8080 it works as well
can anyone please hit me
also i have a feeling its the web services that are not working but how do i check

Not sure what you're asking. Do you mean that you can get to your web pages from the local host just fine, but not over the network?

Do you see any errors in the logs? And what versions of things (Tomcat, java, Apache, Linux), are you using???

Your information is not sufficient. At least give a more clear description of what's happening. It's not clear from your message what's working and what not.

Anyway as a start check whether you have the necessary systems variables properly set. i.e: CATALINA_HOME, JAVA_HOME and JDK_HOME
You might not need all the three variables depending on your setup, but have a check.

You can check on that while you find more info. Good luck.

thanks alot i have already resolved the issue
i had to set the java_home dir and a few other things
