I can't seem to find information on Jakarata Tomcat
how to install tomcat from source.
I have following folders after tar -zxvf:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4218 2005-01-19 21:41 build.xml
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 2005-01-19 21:40 jakarta-servletapi-5/
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2005-03-09 01:05 jakarta-tomcat-5/
drwxr-xr-x 7 root root 4096 2005-03-09 01:05 jakarta-tomcat-catalina/
drwxr-xr-x 13 root root 4096 2005-03-09 01:05 jakarta-tomcat-connectors/
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2005-01-19 21:40 jakarta-tomcat-jasper/

The build.xml is for installing everything I suppose?

The build tool is called Ant, specifically Apache Ant. Ant is available from . You will also need a Java SDK, once you have all that in place simply cd to the directory where the build.xml file is and run 'ant' (without the quotes).
