To find dhcpd.conf

I have installed linux redhat9.0 and i m not getting dhcpd.conf file as i want to configure dhcp how do i get that.What are the neccessary components or files needed for configuring dhcp and where can i find them.

you'll find this information in the file ifcfg-eth0 usually in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

The previous reply is correct if you're configuring your network to use dhcp to obtain the IP address, but if you're trying to configure a DHCP server, then /etc/dhcpd.conf is the correct file for that. If this file is not there then you have to install dhcpd first.
