Tinyurl link has disappeared from my task bar.

The Tinyurl icon on my Firefox task bar has dissapeared.
I used to be able to get it up from the tinyurl site but that link has disappeared as well.
Going to their site it appears that they are now charging for the job after the first one(s) and want subscriptions.
Can anyone suggest a similar or program for a Linux user ?

No Solution

I think I might have not been clear. I used to have an icon on the task bar in Firefox and if I had a web page open and clicked on the icon it went to the Tinyurl.com site and produced the Tinyurl of the site I have open I could then copy and then paste the Tinyurl into an email or wherever I wanted it.
All automatically. That little Icon has gone.

Personally I have never been comfortable clicking on a tinyurl. There is no way to tell before the click exactly what site it leads to and I refuse to be compromised by the potential for being directed to an inappropriate site (read that as possible malware or even merely offensive content). If the site is not inappropriate why would the poster feel the need to hide it as a tinyurl? Link it directly instead so the receiver is able to tell where it directs.
