Timidity Soundfonts

Hello,

Where can I find some decent free soundfonts, and how do I install them? I setup Timidity with whatever default soundfonts it comes with and set it up to run as a server so that I can use it with programs like KMidi, NoteEdit, and Rosegarden - and it works. But, the sound is horrific - so stale and mechanical and cheesy. It is the sound I remember from my early days of using a computer and the reason I thought midi was junk, until someone showed me that it can actually sound decent. I looked at the site hammersound.net and they seem to have a lot of different soundfonts to download for free, but I don't know which ones to get. They seem like they are for one instrument, so if that is the case, how do I get a whole collection and make them work?
