Time Sync Client - no backward chgs

We are adding linux servers into our windows environment. We have a local GPS source that runs NTP for time synchronisation for the environment. We run software that is sensitive to backward time changes. I have looked at Domain Time II (Greyware Automation), which works well for time synching, but backwards time changes can not be turned off. Does anyone know of a Linux time synch client that has the ability to turn off backward changes only ?

I don't know much about ntp but there's a client called rdate which has the option to change time gradually. Therefore it may just stop or slow down your clock if adjusting backwards.
