TightVNC equiv

I am running tight VNC on my Win2k machine. I love it!!! It's great. I didn't see a distro for linux sadly. Is there something similar out there? I had seen a friend get into his linux box through a web browser once, but I don't know what he way using.

hi zchoyt,

Yep tightVNC is available for basically all flavours of *nix.

On debian: 'apt-get install tightvncserver'
Redhat/suse/fedora: dowload the rpms from their site, ,here, they are below the Windows ones.

Another vnc server is XVnc ... i think it's a bit more common on linux platforms.

I ues tightVNC on Ubuntu and it works great :)

It looks like it needs Free86, and is am using FC3 which uses xorg (?). The other standard. What can I do?

It can be used with both Xorg and XF86 - http://www.tightvnc.org/index.html
