Thunderbird Timeout & TB Forum Access
Lubuntu 18.04 LTS
Linux 4.15.0-43-generic (i686) Pentium 4, 3.06 GHz, 2 GB RAM Thunderbird 60.2.1 (32 bit) I always get a time-out notification when I launch TB. TB often hangs waiting for some sort of response from the ISP (TPG in Sydney, Australia). When I send an email, TB waits for a response before moving the email to the 'Sent" folder. Often this response is not received and the email is left in Drafts. I would like to post the above details on the mozillaZine forum, but I cannot get through the registration gateway. The registration fails because it claims I enter the incorrect value for the number of letters in 'Mozilla'. Any help on either the TB problem, or the registration, gladly welcomed. John |
Bump.
From the number of views, this subject is of interest but no suggestions so far. It is an ongoing problem and I need some way of determining if it is the ISP at fault, or Thunderbird itself. An recent email was sent to 50 recipients including myself as 'me', the draft is erased and TB waits for something before saving the email in the Sent folder. Give up waiting and close all windows, then re-open and receive a copy of the email addressed to 'me', but no copy in either Draft or Sent folders. I did contact the ISP on this subject, and I got the impression that something was changed at their end that was supposed to correct the problem. I will now get onto them again. Still unable to register on mozillaZine forum, any suggestions ? Thanks for viewing, John |

some sort of networking problem. you would need to provide us which thunderbirds actual verbose output (and no, i don't know how to get that; another search required i guess), as well as troubleshooting about how your network connections fare otherwise. Quote:
