Thunderbird profile folder in SMB Share

How can I set up my Thunderbird profile folder on a SMB share?
I have a NSLU2 (Linksys) and all folders are loacated on DISK 1\user\ .
Thunderbird setup will not browse the SMB Shares, and if entered manually in the folder box, it cannot connect. Tried to change the ptofiles.ini file to point to the SMB share, and same result.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I've never tried it before, but if you configure your thunderbird profile to look in a different location you might be able to do it.

These links might be helpful

Tell me how it works out. This would be a nice idea to let me use the same profile on a dual boot system.

Chaged to Xandros, and created a profile under a network share, copied all old profile data from the windows profile in the new profile, and it works. Also changed manually the profile folder in Windows thunderbird to the new profile and can now access from either Xandros or Windows (although why would I try it from windows, Linux is the best, especially Xandros).
Still Thunderbird will not recognize a SMB share as a profile folder location, it needs to be a network share, then it works.

Great, now I can read my e-mail whenever I read e-mail on the rare occasion I boot up Windows

Even if you never boot back into windows you still can feel the pride of knowing that you've made your computer just a bit more geeky
