Thunderbird forward from filter fails

Hi,

I'm using TBird 1.5.0.8. Sending messages in general works fine.

However, using filters to automatically forward messages fails. I get the wonderfully enlightening error message: "Sending of message failed." Can anyone tell me where I can look for some more useful error information, or even better, how to fix my problem?

The filter itself is straight-forward (no pun intended).

Thanks,
Brian

I have the same version of Thunderbird installed on a FC5 and the forward rule in filters works fine! Can I ask some silly question?
Have you checked if you can e-mail to the "forward address" writing an e-mail directly to that address?
Have you enabled the filter log to see some more useful standard error?
I keep some minute to think about any other genial question to ask!

And try doing this using the template specified in the rule!

You should check the SMTP host you're using for the forwarding account. If you've got two or more accounts, you may be attempting to send the "old" account's messages via the "new" account's SMTP host. That may look like a SPAM attempt on the new server (eg. if the From header isn't in the new account's domain), and so it would reject the send even though a manual send from the new account to the same address would work fine.

I'm also using TB forwarding between two accounts (with two SMTP services declared), and it works without any problems.

I haven't had a chance to get back to this, yet, but as soon as I can I'll let you know if it works.

Thanks for the ideas,

Brian
