Thunderbird email
I use THunderbird from Mozilla as my eamil program
It got buggy and wouldn't open.
I wanted to install the new version but as it wouldn't open and I hadn't eported the address book or inbox, I thought I'd just rename the folder from "thunderbird" to "old_thunderbird".
The install didn't work and, when I renamed the "old_thunderbird" file, "thunderbird" it was like i opend it up for the first time. No email in the inbox, no entries in the address bock and no reconized passwords.

I'd really like to at least get my address book back if that's possible, or even my inbox. Any solutions?

Thunderbird should store your mail in your home folder. So go to /home/yourusername and then look for a hidden folder called .thunderbird. Under this there should be a folder with a strange name consisting of numbers and letters and ending with ".default". Under this folder you should be able to find your mailbox, contacts and so on.

A fresh install of Thunderbird should be able to find this folder so I hope for your sake that it's still there!
