Thunderbird e-mail: two accounts to one Inbox

I'm trying to set up and migrate a husband and wife from Windows Outlook to Thunderbird (in Linux). Although their e-mails have different accounts (like john@thepetersons.com and mary@thepetersons.com), messages from both come into the same Inbox in Outlook.

If they want the same thing to happen in Thunderbird, is this something set up in Accounts (so messages from two e-mail accounts come into the same Profile and are mixed together), or is this an issue for "different profiles"?

I've never set up this sort of configuration before (usually one person = one e-mail account), so I'm unsure how to accomplish this.

the easiest way is to set up each account to dump email into the "local" folders instead of the default separate folders. You'll have to change both accounts to point to the same folders.
