thunderbird crashes while opening some mails with attachments


i have got thunderbird version 0.8 installed...it crashes while opening some mails with some particular formats of attachments(e.g. .doc,.ttf,) ....this is the error it gives while closing...

rahul@tux rahul $ thunderbird
fgrep: /usr/lib/MozillaThunderbird/defaults/pref/thunderbird.js: No such file or directory
No running windows found
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not get the JVM manager
System error?:: Success
