thunderbird -compose doesn't work anymore.

I have a script that sends email in this manner:
thunderbird -compose "subject=$SUBJ,to=$TO,body=$BODY"
This script has worked many times in the past however now all it does is opens thunderbird in compose, but all the fields are blank. Has something changed in 1.5? Where is the page which explains the command line options? I have misplaced my bookmark.

Note the bug at the bottom that basically says the -compose command is broken...
