Thunderbird backup
 

If I want to backup my mail and other profile info in Thundebird, is there anything other than the /home/andy/.thunderbird directory that I need to backup?

Nope. All profile data is stored in that directory, so it is all you need to back up (unless you started the profile manager by hand and told it to store the data elsewhere, which is very unlikely).
