thunderbird and outlook express

Does Thunderbird (or Mozilla Mail for that matter) support Outlook Express email? I can't remember if it does and I can't find any information telling me whether it does or not. I need to import my OE email to Thunderbird and I'd rather not lose it all.

The only choice I get in linux in thunderbird is to import from communicator 4.x, but I knew that already. I guess I'll just have to use evolution.

I would like to import Outlook Express .dbx mail into Thunderbird, and I'm getting the same problem.

Is it not possible to import Outlook Express mail into Thunderbird in Linux?

Does anyone know of a workaround?
