Thunderbird & Outlook 365 - suddenly folder display broken on all accounts

This is about some major Thunderbird (or Outlook ) weirdness that started today....or at least that I noticed today.

Everything used to be good. I could access all my Outlook 365 imap folders on Thunderbird (3 different Outlook accounts), it was sunny and warm and the birds were chirping outside. Suddenly, all of my Outlook folders - except for Inbox and Trash - disappeared, and my world came to halt.

Maybe a bit dramatic, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem, maybe starting today? If not, I'd really appreciate any guidance on how to best troubleshoot.

To be more specific, I have three unrelated Outlook 365 imap accounts, and a few other non-Outlook 365 imap (different services) accounts.

All non-Outlook 365 imap accounts are continuing to work 100%. The Outlook 365 accounts, all of a sudden, stopped displaying any folders other than Inbox & Trash. When I click on subscribe, nothing is checked at all (not even Inbox). Checking any folders (even those displayed - Inbox & Trade) results in me getting a message that all emails are being re-downloaded. I've tried a few troubleshooting methods, but literally, I can't do anything that seems to work. One curious thing is that when I send an email, or try to save a draft, those imap folders appear again in that Outlook 365 Thunderbird account. But, the messages don't always save to those folders (progress never completes, though the message does send) - plus, on Thunderbird re-start, all these other folders (i.e., Sent & Drafts) are again no longer displayed.

Is anyone experiencing any issues, particularly anyone on T31? Anyone on T37 with any issues? To note, the folders are still displaying via web, so I know they are there. Plus, all still display on my phone. My TB just seems not to be pulling them...

Thanks!!

I just installed Thunderbird 38 on Mageia under Virtualbox, and have same problem with the folders. As mentioned in my original post, Thunderbird was functioning just fine earlier today, so the only explanation I can think of is that Microsoft just now changed something service-wise. I guess I'll get in touch with them, but I don't that it will make any difference. It would be good to hear if others have the same or similar problem, in case there's a fix I can implement on my side.

Thanks.

Hate to reply to my own post 2x, but I wanted to update in case anyone is frustrated by the same troubles: seems to be a known (and reported) Outlook incident, Service Incident(EX41924) - https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/158/t/427864 . Of course now is the trillion Tugrug question of when (if?) it will be resolved...

AND my last response to my own post, then I'll mark as "Solved". As a workaround, as laid out in https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/158/t/428071:

Right click on Account --> Settings --> Server Settings --> Advanced --> [Uncheck] Show only subscribed folders.

While this shows all folders, it's better than having all of your folders missing (I think, anyway). I don't know if saving drafts and saving sent messages on the server is fixed (with the bug, these messages would not save to the server), but even if still broken, at least you can see your folders for now, if/when MS fixes this issue.
