Thermal Issues
Hey everyone,
My notebook has thermal related problems due to buggy bios: The fans only seem to kick in when the notebook gets really really hot, and i think this is the bios overriding the ACPI. Is there anyway I can force the kernel to constantly look up the temperature of the CPU and so ensure that the fans kick in? Thanks in advance. |
acpid and lm-sensors are the only things that come to mind. Have you tried running the ACPI Daemon, acpid, or does the bios crap it out?
acpid = http://downloads.sourceforge.net/acp...irror=easynews lm-sensors = http://www.lm-sensors.org/wiki/Download (be sure to read the notice to thinkpad users) |
Thanks for the speedy reply. lm_sensors don't work with my motherboard. Is there no way to force the kernel to look up temperature then? I was under the impression that there was. acpid is running by the way. My problems are due to buggy dsdt tables in the bios, updating the bios with a custom table does no good. Thanks again.
