is there a software can convert avi to mpg or rmvb in linux??
I know there is a helix producer for linux but it only can convert umcompressed avi file to rmvb.......I even dunno how to uncompress a avi......

I am not an expert, but to my knowledge mencoder can do the job. It doesnt come with a graphical user interface (AFAIK), but it can convert almost everything to anything.
it couldn't help me.....they not support the rmvb file....
or I need convert a avi to a 4GB uncompressed avi then comvert it back to rmvb......
my harddisk not big enough for........
