that is the perfect example of how NOT to ask a question
What distro are you using? what scanner? what printer? |
you will sure need some ^info^ !?
read docs & FAQ at www.tldp.to get a overview about linux. mritch. |
if ur working with RH linux, do make sure that cups service is enabled. There is a graphic tool to configure a new printer.
It is somewhere in systemtools or system settings. Try that. Keep it in mind that It is not windows!!! |
if you're using Redhat or Fedora use redhat-config-printer or system-config-printer to launch the utility you're looking for. Almost anything under the "control" panel has a redhat-config-something for it. Just type "redhat-config" and then tap "tab" twice. Or in fedora use "system-config"

Mandrake has "Mandrake Control Center" mcc, which is very similiar to Windows Control Panel.
Suse has Yast which is similar. Slackware has pico which you use to edit config files. |
