The Much Dreaded "Circular Install"

Trying to install the clamav antivirus package.

So I get the clamav-0.90 package, and do my rpm, but it comes back saying it can't install because it can't find the package clamav-db-0.90.

Fair enough. I download clamav-db-0.90 and do my rpm, and...YUP....it says it can't install it because it can't find clamav-0.90

Any way around this??

Would appreciate any help!

Thanks

Oh yeah, installing on CentOS 4.

You could use Yum to do this or install in this way:
Code:
rpm -ivh clamav-0.90.rpm clamav-db-0.90.rpm
Basically, you install both files in one command and they find each other and it should work.

I only know because back when I ran RH8 (I think) there was an issue with registering. The RPMS required wouldn't install (and there were 3 of them) with the exact same problem you're having.

It was only when I went to RH's site that I saw the fix.
