the infamous kopete webcam black screen w/yahoo protocol

the cam itself works (PWC driver) and is recognized by the system (lsusb="Bus 002 Device 004: ID 046d:08b3 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Zoom"). However, it comes up with a black screen both on my end and on the receiving end in yahoo messenger. I've read and attempted to employ the solutions in the other posts on this subject, but still no joy. Anyone overcome the same problem with yahoo?

thanks and best regards, bezdomny

cat /proc/version= Linux version 2.6.18-4-686 (Debian 2.6.18.dfsg.1-12) ( (gcc version 4.1.2 20061115 (prerelease) (Debian 4.1.1-21)) #1 SMP Mon Mar 26 17:17:36 UTC 2007

kopete v.012.3
