The file does not start.

The next problem. Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
The file referred to in the "No window" does not run on another computer. How can it be the reason. Question to experts QB64_x64_Linux.

Question

The "No window" part at least needs more explanation and when I search QB64_x64_Linux the only link out of billions of potentials is this thread... here?

Maybe: http://www.qb64.net/ (from your "Distribution:") but then where does Ubuntu come in?

We are not there so you will need to spell it out for us... like trying to tell a computer to make a PB&J sandwich?

Certina58, the problem you are experiencing in getting a Linux answer is that you have not described your Linux Question in terms detailed enough to make it come alive for other LQ members. Here are some unanswered questions:

What is "no window"?

What is the name of the file you referring to? What is it supposed to do?

Is this file a script or a binary file? Did you write it or get it from somewhere else? If the latter, please post a link to the source of the file.

Does this file, whatever it is, run on one computer and not on another one or does it not run on either?

Perhaps it would help if you were to attach some screenshots to your post to illustrate the issue. You can attached screenshots by clicking the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the compose post window. The add file dialog will appear below the compose post window.

Hi again. You run .sh in linux from a command line, the one you have highlighted in that other thread looks like .exe for running in windows or WINE?.

Edit\add: I see is not an .exe now.

Plus, if you can copy the text from the blue window to translate for us that may help?

No window

The compiled file works fine on my computer. Copied to the flash drive does not start. The program also can not run on another computer.
The text on a blue background shows the error only part of the information offered by the program.
It would be best to paste the file to the Forum, it may hurt someone can run. This file runs properly on my computer. Sorry, the page Forum can not accept the file. 13.5 MB

Some place like e.g: Dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/ can help to share it unless you have a link where you got it (is it from QB64_x64?)

Once you copied it to the flash drive that may have changed it's permissions so in that directory could try posting the results on the file from:
Code:
ls -l
...

Or, perhaps you'd need to compile it to the flash drive? (I'm no good there.)

Without seeing the error message I'm just guessing, but what does the mount command with no arguments) report for the filesystem on the flash drive? In many distros, the mounting of external media defaults to the "noexec" option.
